ParqueNat will end the campaign 2007-2008 with a supply of nearly 20,000 tons of tomato, thanks to the increase of 30 hectares during the present year. These figures allow ParqueNat to be among the 30 first Spanish trader companies of tomato.
The company, placed in Níjar, is developing its main work with the loose tomato with 155 hectares opposed to the 50 hectares of grape tomato, «most of them of the Bigram variety», said Gonzalez, president of Parque Natural.
The standard is the commercial strongpoint of the company, since «the differential of prices of the grape tomato does not compensate the yield of this one about the standard», said José Angel Gonzalez.
The evolution of commerce in ParqueNat has been a constant. In the campaign 2005-2006 the company produced 11,000 tons and ended the last one with 14.700 tons.
The company has 30 partners and 70 suppliers, will extend the facilities and this year for the first time it started with the solutions IPM with more than 40 hectares of tomato. Germany, Switzerland and France are the reference destinations for this company.
