Ejidomar and its relationship with the innovation

Ejidomar is not a trader company of big volumes and it has never been since it was created in 1975 in the population of El Ejido, Almeria. In fact, its commercial top was 6 campaigns ago with 50,000 commercialized tons.

The commercial strong point of this company is the innovation in the production, which is recovered again after the arrival to the presidency of the team of Jose Antonio Baños.

The peppers

The company is developing jointly with an international partner a new range of peppers for markets of added value. This new range of peppers is characterized for being “minis” and giving special conditions of consumption, which «has a place in Europe», assures Baños.

The company, that developed a plan of investments 2 years ago close to the 8 million euros in its new facilities, has at the present time 370 hectares of culture and has started a phase of growth having 50 hectares more of production. The pepper is 250 hectares of which the 95 per cent is under biological control.

The commercial volumes of Ejidomar are placed between the 31,000-33,000 tons with a range of 6 products, and a commercial volume that in the previous exercise reached the 25 million euros.

Destination

The bet on the innovation in the range of products makes of Ejidomar an atypical company in the destinations, which are quite distributed, and in where has been standing out destinations like Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium and Ireland and Germany as destination for the standard California.
